EN1149-1: 1995 - Protective clothing - Electrostatic properties - Surface resistivity (test methods and requirements)

The presentation :

The standard is intended to establish the minimum electrostatic requirement and test method for protective clothing that dissipates static electricity in order to avoid the formation of sparks that could cause fires. These requirements will not be sufficient in an oxygen-enriched flammable environment. The test method is not applicable to fabrics containing conductive core fibers. This standard does not apply to mains voltages.

The presentation :

The following European standard is part of a series of standards that apply to personal protective equipment designed to protect against the dangers of using hand-held chain saws. No protection measures can provide 100% cut protection. However, experience has shown that protection measures can be produced which provide a degree of protection.

EN465: 1995- Protective clothing that protects against chemical risks: (Type 4)

The presentation :

The European standard specifies the minimum requirements for chemical protective clothing that is resistant to penetration of sprayed liquids, with tight connections resistant to spraying liquids between different parts of the clothing. The clothing is also equipped with gloves and footwear to protect the user from liquid chemical products. The standard specifies the requirements for the properties of materials that are part of protective clothing and clothing products in their entirety.

Attribute 1: Vapor-tight connections between different garments.

EN466: 1995 - Protective clothing against chemical hazards: (Type 3)

The presentation :

The European standard specifies the minimum requirements for leakproof clothing that protects against chemicals. The clothing is equipped with tight connections that are resistant to liquid seepage between different parts of the clothing, it is also equipped with gloves and high boots designed to protect the user from liquid chemical products.

Attribute 1: Vapor-tight connections between different garments.

EN467: 1995- Protective clothing against liquid chemicals

The presentation :

The following standard defines the minimum requirements for garments that protect certain parts of the body from liquid chemicals. These are, for example, aprons, elbow pads and hoods. The standard specifies the requirements for the properties of the materials used in protective clothing, not only for complete chemical protective clothing, but also for each garment that can be worn separately with other articles.

EN470-1: 1995- Protective clothing used in welding and related techniques.

The presentation :

The EN470-1 standard defines the test methods and general requirements for protective clothing intended for welders and persons involved in related techniques, where comparable hazards may occur. The type of clothing is intended to protect a person against small splashes of liquid metals, short-term contact with a flame, and against ultraviolet radiation. The garment is intended to be worn continuously for up to 8 hours at ambient temperature. Additional requirements that apply to certain types of special welding operations will be covered elsewhere in this European Standard.

EN531: 1995 - Protective clothing for industrial workers exposed to heat

The presentation :

This European standard deals with the requirements for parameters and test methods for materials used in garments. Additionally, it provides recommendations on the shape and cut of clothing when necessary. The standard applies to protective clothing for industrial workers who are exposed to heat. The garment consists of outerwear, elastic garments designed to protect certain parts of the body. These items include hoods and gaiters, but without all other head, hand and foot protection. The type of clothing that meets the requirements of this European standard is intended to protect workers against short-term contact with a flame and against at least one type of thermal hazard. Heat can occur as radiant heat, convection heat, large splashes of liquid metals, or a combination of these hazards.

Attribute 1: Limited flame spread

Limited fire spread

Attribute 2: Convection heat (from Bo to B5)

Convection heat (from B0 to B5)

Attribute 3: Thermal radiation (from CO to C4)

Attribute 4: Splashes of molten aluminum (DO to D3, X = Not Tested)

Attribute 5: Protection against splashes of molten pig iron (from E0 to E3, X = not tested)

Splashes of molten pig iron (E0 to E3, X = not tested)

EN533: 1997- Protective clothing against heat and / or flame

The presentation :

The standard specifies the requirements for the properties of materials and material combinations that are resistant to the limited spread of fire used in protective clothing. The properties are determined by the coefficient of limited fire spread before and after cleaning.

Attribute 1: Index of material resistance (from 1 to 3)

Flame spread indicator / Amount of cleaning X temperature

EN13034: 1997- Protective clothing against chemical hazards: Permeation of liquid chemical products (Type 6)

The presentation :

A European standard specifies the minimum requirements for limited use and reusable chemical protection suits (type 6). This standard additionally specifies the minimum requirements for the connections between different parts of the garment by means of the applied tests confirming the limitation of the effect of sprayed liquids for the complete suit. This is a variation of the EN468: 1994 standard.

The two primary tests of the pr13034 standard are those of the EN368 standard (fabrics) and the EN468 standard (clothing). The EN368 standard is not by itself sufficient to approve this type of garment.

This garment provides limited protection against liquid aerosols, sprayed liquids and small splashes where the potential type of hazard, such as sprayed liquids, mists, is defined.

USE:

  • Protecting against liquid chemicals
  • Splashproof.

SUBSEQUENT TESTS:

EN368- liquid transmission

EN468- spray liquids penetration + Abrasion, tearing, tearing.

EN13034: 2002- Protective clothing against chemicals: Permeation of liquid chemical products (Type 6)

The presentation :

The following European standard specifies the minimum requirements for chemical protective, short-term and reusable coveralls (type 6). The standard also specifies minimum requirements for connections between different parts of clothing, by means of spray testing limited to complete suits, which are a variation of the EN468: 1994 standard.

The two basic tests of the pr13034 standard are those of the EN368 standard (fabrics) and the EN468 standard (clothing). The standard EN 368 is not sufficient to approve this garment.

The garment offers limited protection against liquid aerosols, sprayed liquids and small splashes where the potential type of hazard is known.

Attribute 1: Type 6

EN381-11- Protective clothing for users of hand-held chainsaws (jackets)

The presentation :

This European standard is part of a series of standards that apply to personal protective equipment designed to protect against the risks associated with the use of hand-held chain saws. No protection measures can provide 100% protection against cuts caused by a handheld chainsaw. Experience has shown that protection products can be produced which provide a certain degree of protection.

Attribute 1: Class (chain speed)

Chain speed

EN943-1-Protective clothing for protection against liquid and gaseous chemical products

The presentation :

The standard specifies the minimum requirements for chemical protective suits, ventilated / unventilated; gas-tight (type 1) and non-gas-tight (type 2), and the complete components such as goggles and respiratory protective equipment (APR), gloves and footwear, which may be specified in other standards.
