The employer must provide the employee with personal protective equipment free of charge, which will protect him against the effects of hazardous and harmful factors occurring in the work environment and inform him about the methods of using these means.

The provisions concerning the requirements of protective clothing used by persons employed for welding are included in the standard PN - EN 470-1 - Protection for welders and persons performing related professions - Requirements.

Welder's clothing should meet the requirements of PN-EN 470-1 - Protection for welders and related professions - Requirements. In order to ensure safe and hygienic conditions for the welder, it is not enough that the fabric from which the garment will be sewn is intended for welding.

Clothing with special technical parameters

EN standards

The standard is intended to establish the minimum electrostatic requirement and test method for protective clothing that dissipates static electricity in order to avoid the formation of sparks that could cause fires. These requirements will not be sufficient in an oxygen-enriched flammable environment. The test method is not applicable to fabrics containing conductive core fibers. This standard does not apply to mains voltages.
