Unboxing Engelbert Strauss David S3 SRC
Engelbert Strauss is one of the leaders in the workwear market in Europe. Clothing with an ostrich is characterized by excellent workmanship, material, modern design and comfort of use. Today, we're targeting Engelbert Strauss work shoes, David model, in the S3 SRC protection class. What are the S3 shoes? You can read it on our blog, but we explain in a few words.
The S3 safety shoes are characterized by:
- reinforced toe cap and anti-puncture insole in the sole,
- non-slip, oil-resistant sole,
- water resistance,
- antistatic properties,
- built-up heel.
First impression
The shoes are received in the Engelbert Strauss company carton, which is signed with the logo and described with the shoe protection class. The material from which the cardboard is made is not of the highest quality, but it is not the most important issue for the use of shoes. You receive the shoes in the version purchased at www.balticbhp.pl in an additional package along with a thank you letter and instructions on how to return the product (at balticbhp.pl you have 14 days for this). Anyone who picks up David S3 safety shoes for the first time will find ... but heavy. The fact that the weight of 835g at a size 42 seems to be quite high. The shoes seem chunky and clunky. Design is a matter of taste, of course, shoes can certainly be liked. Black leather, finished with plastic elements. A large red Engelbert Strauss badge on the toe box and an e.s. on the outer part of the shoe give a good identification of the shoe brand.
Material
Most of the shoes are made of really good quality cowhide, which is soft and flexible. Plastic reinforced toe. The upper of the shoe is made of a braided material reinforced with leather. The inside is lined with a breathable fabric that helps to keep the feet in proper hygiene and reduces unpleasant odors. The sole is made of a double-layer TPU. In the rear part of the shoe, additional reflective elements have been added, thanks to which our visibility is significantly improved, e.g. at night or in fog. A cool idea from the Strauss brand is also a solution for easier removal of shoes (tabs on the back, on the heel / tendon).
Sole
The sole of the shoe is solidly carved and very well profiled. The sole is oil-resistant, non-slip (class marked as SRC), resistant to heat in short-term contact up to 200'C. The sole is made of TPU. The manufacturer also boasts that the sole / insole are friendly to people with foot disorders. Importantly, a solid energy absorber has been installed in the sole, thanks to which the shoes really cushion all unevenness of the ground.
Overall shoe rating and customer feedback
Engelbert Strauss David S3 work shoes are, in my opinion, one of the most comfortable work shoes ever created. Very soft lining, perfectly contoured insole and cushioning sole give amazing comfort. The shoes weigh a lot, but you do not feel them even after 8 hours of wearing them. The sole is really durable and picks up unevenness well. The non-slip structure perfectly copes with damp floors.
Shoes with the EN 20345: 11 certificate which determines the fulfillment of the requirements for work shoes in class S3.
To sum up, for the price of PLN 299.99, the Engelbert Strauss Dawid S3 work shoes are a really great choice. The price-performance ratio is incredible. The David model receives a solid recommendation from us. Proven and recommended by our clients from the following industries: construction, melioration and earthworks, general construction, reloading, transport.
