The noise at work disturbs everyone. However, there are professions where the noise level is very harmful to hearing, so it is worth buying appropriate earmuffs for employees. You will find several types of them in our online store.

What is noise at work?

Workplace noise is simply noises that are irritating and cause discomfort. In extreme cases, workers may experience severe earache without ear muffs. It must be prevented so as not to permanently damage your hearing. How can I check if my workplace is actually too noisy? This is precisely regulated by law. It is them that impose an obligation on the employer to purchase hearing protectors for employees. Work noise is measured in decibels. If the sound is less than 35 decibels, the noise will not have a negative impact on you or your employees yet. However, when the noise level is in the range from 35 to 70 dB, it can have a negative impact not only on the hearing organ, but also on the entire body. Fortunately, this is not yet the level of noise that could damage an employee's hearing. The real dangers begin when he is in a noise of up to 85 decibels. This is when many employees complain of intense headaches and, in extreme cases, severe hearing loss. It is most dangerous when the machines generate noise above 85 decibels. Then, hearing damage and even hearing loss are guaranteed. Therefore, hearing protection at work is a must.

How can you reduce noise in the workplace?

When the noise level at work increases, its reduction should also increase. Only then will you ensure the highest possible level of safety in the workplace. When you buy your employees ear muffs, they will provide them with greater reduction with increased noise levels. Noise can be divided into several types. The first is impulse noise. In practice, these are short sounds of very high intensity. This can be, for example, a firearm shot or an explosion of an energy arc. The second type is variable noise. With this type of noise, your employee does not need to change their hearing protectors. Even when noise conditions change.

How do ear muffs work?

The ear-muffs look a bit like headphones designed to enjoy your favorite music. They are composed of two noise-reducing bowls and a headband. The latter's task is to press the headphones against the auricles. A very big advantage of protective headphones is that you can adjust them to the size of your head. Then you don't have such a problem that the hearing protection headphones stick too tightly to your head, or vice versa. The uncomfortable Peltor earmuffs are a nuisance for the employee, so it is worth choosing the ones that will be as comfortable as possible.

Peltor hearing protectors are a much better solution than traditional earphones as they can be used by workers who work in different shifts. For example, we highly recommend 3M hearing protectors. This is because they have a flexible stainless steel headband and comfortable sealing rings. These are not all their advantages yet. They are also very durable and comply with the requirements of the CE and EN352-3 standards. They provide excellent noise protection in the range of 95 dB (A) - 110 dB (A). It is worth remembering that protection at work is not only workwear, but very often it is primarily accessories that increase our safety level.
