Have you ever damaged your T-shirt in the wash? The most common reason for this is that you did not read the information on the label and you set the wrong wash cycle. Sometimes there are other reasons why clothes taken out of the washing machine look dull, are discolored, torn, perforated, or two sizes smaller. We will advise you on how to take care of T-shirts so that such misfortunes do not give you a wide berth. Of course, you can still try stretching such a shrunken T-shirt, but it will never look the same as it did before this unfortunate wash.

Why are work shirts shrinking?

Men's T-shirts, like all workwear, are often made of stretchy natural fibers such as cotton, and in the case of thermo-active clothing, even wool. The reasons for shrinkage in the wash are: high temperature, water and mixing due to the movements of the drum. And where does this shrinkage come from? Namely, because when drying men's T-shirts with print at too high temperatures, these fibers loosen. This means that the t-shirt can be reduced by up to two sizes. Then you only have to hope that you will be able to give it to someone close as a gift, because you will certainly never put it on again.

How to wash work clothes?

Can I prevent clothing from shrinking when washed? Yes, and what's more - it does not require maximum effort from you. All you need to do is follow a few basic rules when it comes to washing work shirts. Thanks to this, you will be able to save and extend the life of your favorite men's work shirts. We encourage you to perform such a simple and prosaic activity as reading tags. This is where you will find all the information on how to dry and wash a specific T-shirt. You will also learn from it what you should absolutely avoid in order not to destroy it. If you have a problem with deciphering the mysterious stamps that you can see on the tag, we encourage you to check their meaning online. It's best to find the explanations you need and print them out and keep them in the bathroom. Then washing each new thing will not be stressful for you and will not be more time-consuming than usual.

We also encourage you to sort your clothes, especially work shirts. Thanks to this, you will avoid not only shrinking, but also discoloration. Plan your washing in such a way that the clothes that require the same temperature and colors are in the washing machine. It is recommended to wash men's cotton t-shirts at a temperature of 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. It is also a good idea to turn them inside out before putting them in the washing machine. When you have to wash men's work T-shirts with print, we advise you not to iron them in the place of the prints as they may peel off.

How to fold T-shirts?

Start by placing it on a flat surface. Then fold the sleeves inward and fold the men's t-shirt in half. T-shirts with your own imprint are best stored in a wardrobe, in a chest of drawers or in drawers. Without folding, you can hang them on hangers. Where to buy durable T-shirts? It is worth taking an interest in the work t-shirts available in our Baltic BHP store. We have Snickers work shirts or Engelbert Strauss sports shirts among others.
