New provisions of the Omnibus Directive in Balticworkwear

Has become! The long-awaited by all promotion hunters on January 1, 2023 has arrived. On this day, new provisions of the so-called directive entered into force. Omnibus, which is designed to, among other things, fight unfair promotions. Below we present some important information about the functioning of customization mechanisms on our website.

New promotion but old price, i.e. price tracking mechanism

The new regulations imposed on online and brick-and-mortar stores the obligation to present the price before the promotion if the store promotes a given promotion as a discount / sale / bargain. The store must present on the product page what was the lowest price of the product before the promotion was launched. Interestingly, there is no obligation to show the lowest price from the last 30 days if the discount on the website is a regular reduction of the list price or the so-called RRP price.

Although we started work on implementing this functionality in July, we could not finally finish the work before the final entry into force of Polish regulations - it was simply not entirely clear how it would all work. Finally, we decided to introduce extended price presentation functionality. All products available in our store are marked with the lowest price of the product from the last 30 days, we thought that you have the right to know if we actually do promotions in our store or maybe they are promotions with a small "p".

In addition, we decided to put information on the product card whether the current price of the product in the promotion is its lowest price in the last 30 days. So you don't need to check anything else.

Price increases and the tracking mechanism

We draw our customers' attention to a very important element, which, unfortunately, the tracking mechanism cannot present, i.e. the reason for the current price being higher than the lowest price in the last 30 days. Product prices and exchange rates are currently extremely volatile and change frequently. There may be a case where the lowest price from the last 30 days will be the price before the increase.


Verification of opinions about products - we do not exclude stationary customers!

One of the requirements for the implementation of the Omnibus Directive is the obligation for the store to present information on whether customer reviews are verified with the purchase. We thought about the right solution for a long time and finally decided not to introduce the feedback verification mechanism. First of all, because we perceive our clients as honest, committed and overworked people who do not have the desire or, above all, time to add fake reviews about products.

In addition, we found that it is not fair to our customers to limit their right to add a product review when they bought our product in a different channel than the Balticbhp store. Such an important channel for you are our brick-and-mortar stores, where you make thousands of purchases every year.
